Owned and operated by the founders of The Marvelous Mutts, the Hudson Valley Dog Farm provides training and boarding services on a bucolic farm in the Hudson Valley (NY). Kara and Nadja met in 2006 through their mutual love of dogs. They have trained hundreds of dogs, including dozens of their own, to be wonderful pets and superstar frisbee, agility and dock diving stars. They purchased the property now known as the Hudson Valley Dog Farm in 2009.

After a successful career as an attorney, Kara’s life went to the dogs in 2005. She and Nadja volunteer with Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association as foster parents to dogs in search of their forever home.
Since 2018, Kara has been the Lead Trainer at The Hudson Valley Dog Farm, training hundreds of dogs from the surrounding area and NYC. She is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP), a graduate of their Dog Trainer Professional Program. KPA CTPs have demonstrated a high level of technical knowledge and hands-on skill both training canines and teaching people! Kara’s knowledge, skill, easy nature, and passion for dogs, contributes to her effectiveness as a trainer. Her goal is to foster positive relationships between pets and their owners.

Since 2007, Nadja has been working with performance dogs. Her career in entertainment began when she was selected as part of the Purina Incredible Dog Team that traveled throughout South America and the United States (2007-2011). Later, when she and Kara formed The Marvelous Mutts, Nadja and the team have continued to travel throughout the world. Through using the same training techniques that are used at the Hudson Valley Dog Farm, this rag tag pack of misfits and former castaways have become some of the world’s most amazing canine athletes. Nadja also leads group classes, private training and seminars, specifically in dog sports, at the Dog Farm.
