Owned and operated by the founders of The Marvelous Mutts, the Hudson Valley Dog Farm provides training and boarding services on a bucolic farm in the Hudson Valley.
Kara Gilmore and Nadja Palenzuela are the owners of the Hudson Valley Dog Farm. Kara currently manages The Dog Farm and oversees the care of every single dog in our program. Kara has been training dogs for over 25 years. She has trained dozens of her own rescued dogs to be performing stars with The Marvelous Mutts, who have been featured on national television and in exciting performances all over the country. Since 2018, Kara has been caring for and training dogs at the Hudson Valley Dog Farm, and caring for other people’s pets has become her passion.
At the end of 2025, Nadja retired from traveling with The Marvelous Mutts and, along with Kara, has turned her focus to training and caring for dogs at the farm. Nadja is also pursuing competitive agility with her young dogs, and manages employees and the add-ons (like agility for fun) your dogs may enjoy. Nadja is available for specialized seminars and private training in multiple dog sports.
FACILITY: The Hudson Valley Dog Farm sits on a beautiful 8-acre farm in Columbia County, NY. We built Hudson Valley Dog Farm with our own dogs in mind. Spacious kennels. Relationship centered training in a beautiful, clean building. Open fields. Structured play. Calm supervision. With over 25 years of experience and owners living on site, we provide trusted care for families who see their dogs as true members of the household.
